One device was installed in the Pediatric Ward and the other in the Hospital Emergency Department. This professional equipment offers invaluable therapeutic capabilities, saving the lives of the youngest patients and protecting children from possible complications caused by cardiac arrest and oxygen deprivation. Delays in emergency treatment can often cause irreversible neurological changes and, in extreme cases, lead to death.

How do resuscitation stations work?

Hospital: “The stations ensure optimal body temperature and respiratory support during resuscitation. These are procedures that restore proper heart and lung function. They are also adapted for the simultaneous treatment of twins.”

It is worth adding that in March this year, ZOZ organized an EPALS course—training in advanced pediatric resuscitation procedures. The course consisted of lectures and practical instruction in methods for responding to cardiac arrest and recognizing the first symptoms of circulatory and respiratory failure.

Employees of the Pediatric Ward and the Hospital Emergency Department also learned to recognize the symptoms of injuries most commonly occurring in newborns, infants and slightly older children.
