To look fresh and beautiful throughout New Year's Eve, you should prepare your skin properly. A few days earlier, carry out additional skincare treatments: an exfoliation and a moisturizing or regenerating mask. Use a lifting mask immediately before applying makeup.
Exfoliation is a simple cosmetic treatment that refreshes and smooths the skin and gives it a healthy complexion. It also improves microcirculation. Exfoliation cleanses the skin more deeply than ordinary washing, so it is better prepared to absorb the active substances contained in creams.
There are several types of exfoliation. Mechanical (abrasive, scrub) exfoliation is intended for normal or oily-prone skin. It contains granular particles, such as those from almond or apricot stones, which act like delicate sandpaper. It requires massage. Enzymatic exfoliation (gommage), used for dry, sensitive or mature skin, does not abrade dead skin but dissolves it. It does not require massaging; it is applied to the face like a mask and, after a few minutes, is "rolled off" as if erasing with an eraser, or rinsed off. A peel-off exfoliation is suitable for oily skin. It does not require massaging; it is applied to the face, where it sets, and then removed in sheets like a plaster.
For normal or oily skin, exfoliation can be used once a week; for dry, delicate skin, less often, for example once every two weeks.
