Information kiosks will be installed at the most important points in Bolesławiec: in the office building (inside and outside), in the town hall (inside and outside), by the Kutuzov Monument, by the indoor swimming pool, by the District Court, by the Museum of Ceramics, by the PKP railway station, in the park by the Sanctuary (Sierpnia '80 Street), at Zamkowy Square, on Grunwaldzka Street, in Waryńskiego Park and on the green areas by Głowackiego Street.
Thanks to the investment, everyone using the information kiosks will be able to learn more about the history of Bolesławiec and its monuments. What is more, tourists will be able to book accommodation or a cinema ticket.
The device will also make it possible to talk via Skype (the information kiosks will have built-in cameras) and send e-mail. However, internet access will be limited: users will only be able to browse websites related to Bolesławiec and its surrounding area.
The project will cost more than half a million zlotys. The city authorities are applying for more than PLN 226,000 in funding from the European Regional Development Fund. The investment is scheduled for completion in 2010.
