“It is a great thing that, during this difficult time of the pandemic, we found the money needed by such an important social group for us—for people who worked all their lives, who, through their professional work, devoted themselves to the Republic of Poland,” emphasized the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda.
As the polsatnews.pl service reports:
According to estimates, 9.1 million people will receive the fourteenth pension payment. However, not everyone will receive the benefit in the same amount, because the law provides for an income threshold of PLN 2,900 gross. This means that approximately 1.2 million people receiving higher pensions will have their fourteenth payments reduced according to the “zloty for zloty” rule—that is, the fourteenth pension will be reduced by the amount exceeding PLN 2,900).
Moreover, 500,000 pensioners receiving the highest benefits—approximately PLN 4,200—will not receive the so-called fourteenth payments. The government allocated approximately PLN 11.4 billion for payment of this benefit. Most beneficiaries will receive the money in November.
