The third hearing of Rafał B. took place on February 22. Family matters are coming to light. We are learning from eyewitnesses, including the father, exactly what happened on the property on the day the child fell into the water. The Rutkowski Bureau became involved in the search for the child in the spring of last year. Maja Rutkowski conducted the search and became very close to the child’s mother, Joanna. How does the detective view the case of the disappearance and all the leads she pursued during the search? All the videos from the search for Kacperek in the spring of 2020 and Maja Rutkowski’s current cases can be watched on her channel Maja Rutkowski YouTube.
Joanna Wacyk, Kacperek’s mother, is actively participating in the trial as an auxiliary prosecutor. We will ask what the proceedings look like from her perspective and how she views Rafał’s childcare on the tragic day. And what is the family’s life like after the tragedy?
Joanna Wacyk:
It was a tragic accident. Rafał has not recovered to this day. Unfortunately, he failed to keep an eye on the child. It was his duty to watch the child.
For now, I will not comment on the trial itself. We will see what happens. Witnesses will still be questioned.
The ransom angle turned out to be a false lead. It was not considered at all. Then everything became clear.
The hardest thing for me was getting through each day. Evening would come, and I would panic.
Rafał and Kacper were inseparable. Father and son were one. Rafał never raised a hand against any of the children.
During the search for Kacperek, I met Klaudia, the mother of Adaś, who also suffered an unfortunate accident. A moment of the mother’s inattention and the boy drowned in a pond. Klaudia and I support each other.
The children from the kindergarten also remember Kacperek. On his birthday, they visited his grave at the cemetery.
Maja Rutkowski:
Rafał suffered the greatest punishment possible. He lost his beloved little son, Kacperek.
It was a matter of seconds and minutes. He should have watched him more carefully, but I would not judge him.
We did not consider the ransom angle.
I remember when we arrived here. Asia and her sisters were very frightened. They did not want to talk to anyone.
We are always on the family’s side. The entire family has been affected by this tragedy.
Please do not evaluate or judge. It is easy to destroy someone’s life.
This family’s ordeal will last for the rest of their lives.
Asia had the support of her family and of Klaudia, who also lost her little son.
