During a routine inspection on the A4 motorway in Jędrzychowice, KAS detected the illegal import of scrap metal from Germany to Poland. “In the almost 24-tonne load brought in for two Polish recipients, nearly half was being transported in breach of the applicable regulations,” informs Agnieszka Rzeźnicka-Gniadek, spokesperson for the Lower Silesian KAS. “One of the recipients did not have a permit to process the material and was unable to recover or dispose of the scrap in accordance with the regulations. The Voivodeship Inspectorate for Environmental Protection deemed the shipment illegal.”

The recipient of the waste did not have the required permit to process it and was unable to recover or dispose of it in accordance with the regulations. The Voivodeship Inspectorate for Environmental Protection deemed the shipment of clothing illegal.
The trailers and their cargo were seized for the criminal proceedings. Carriers face a fine of PLN 13,000, while recipients of the shipments may be fined up to PLN 500,000.
