We were dispatched to a fire involving farm buildings in Modła.

The fire was tackled by several fire service units. (At the scene were JRG Bolesławiec, OSP Wierzbowa, OSP Nowa Kuźnia, OSP Różyniec, OSP Krzyżowa, OSP Trzebień and OSP Gromadka.

Bolesławiec District Headquarters of the State Fire Service on the incident:

On February 15, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Command Post of the Bolesławiec District Commander of the State Fire Service received a report of a fire in a farm building in Modła. The duty officer dispatched units from volunteer fire service stations in Gromadka municipality, as well as OSP Trzebień and three JRG Bolesławiec units.

Upon arrival, it was established that the entire area of one farm building in the compact buildings of an agricultural holding was on fire. The first units to arrive directed firefighting streams defensively toward other adjacent farm buildings that had not yet been affected by the fire. To extinguish the fully developed fire, firefighters used 12 firefighting streams. Due to the high temperature, the wooden roof structure covered with sheet metal was partially damaged and collapsed into the building.

Agricultural machinery and fertilizers were burned and destroyed in the fire. Operations lasted a total of 14 hours and 48 minutes. The firefighting operation involved eight State Fire Service units from Bolesławiec, including a vehicle with a water tank and an aerial ladder, as well as 10 volunteer fire service units from Gromadka, Wierzbowa, Nowa Kuźnia, Krzyżowa, Różyniec and Trzebień.
