As the Nowogrodziec-based Obywatelskie Stowarzyszenie Inicjatyw Lokalnych VE-TO reported on its fan page, the Complaints, Requests and Petitions Committee of the Nowogrodziec Municipal Council decided that the issue of selling R. Wróblewski Square, where a shopping centre was to be built, would return for consideration by the councillors. VE-TO:

Now, at the next meeting of the Municipal Council, there is a chance that the resolution will be withdrawn from the legal system. It depends on how the councillors vote. Everything is in their hands, raised for or against.

The organisation adds:

Dear Residents, contact your councillors and talk to them about this vote. It will determine whether we lose the last free, green space in the town centre.

As we read on the Nowogrodziec Municipal Office website:

We present the position of the Complaints, Requests and Petitions Committee of the Nowogrodziec Municipal Council […], expressed in the draft resolution of the Municipal Council together with its justification, for the next meeting, which will be held on 19 February 2021.

By a vote of 3 in favour and 2 against, the councillors propose abandoning the sale of the undeveloped property at R. Wróblewski Square in Nowogrodziec.

The draft resolution states in its justification:

The Complaints, Requests and Petitions Committee […] after considering the residents’ request to withdraw from the legal system the resolution […] of the Nowogrodziec Municipal Council dated 26 November 2020 concerning the sale of undeveloped property, found the request justified, stating that the plot should not be sold because the municipality is not yet ready. The surrounding area has not been prepared for the investment, meaning there are no parking spaces. The municipality is not strategically secured in the surrounding area through the creation of all the infrastructure that would ensure movement and access to the plot. Nothing has been built or secured in the plan, such as a “park” or something that would meet the residents’ expectations.
