The ensemble’s members write on Facebook: Dear friends, we would like to wish you a healthy and Merry Christmas surrounded by the people closest to you. We also wish that everyone has their own place at the table this Christmas. We present the pastoral carol entitled “Only One Night Is Like This,” performed by the girls from our ensemble.
The Zespół Pieśni i Tańca “Ziemi Bolesławieckiej” is one of the oldest folk ensembles operating in Bolesławiec County. Its achievements include many awards at the national level; it has also performed outside Poland, including in the former Yugoslavia, the USSR, Czechoslovakia, Croatia, Bosnia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, France, Spain, Germany, Serbia, Slovakia, Portugal and Singapore. For several years, the ensemble has been led by Elżbieta Andrusieczko-Tor. The ensemble undertakes activities aimed at promoting folk culture, including performances such as Panny i Wianki and the traditional creation of the Easter Palm. Each year, it gives between 5 and 30 concerts per group, and training workshop trips are organised every winter holiday. The ensemble’s members are happy to meet outside rehearsals and launch various initiatives. From 2004 to 2011, they made the Great Palm on Palm Sunday in Piłsudski Square in Bolesławiec. Children and young people who dance in the ensemble often participate in organising cultural and entertainment events, frequently volunteer and take part in various initiatives organised in Bolesławiec.
