At the end of October, a five-member UKS Tukan Iwiny team travelled to Germany, to the area around Bad Schandau, where a competition accompanying the European Junior Orienteering Cup was held. In the sprint, Angelika Haniszewska proved the best, while her teammate Dominika Kanikowska finished third (both competed in the D-14 category). In the D-18 category, Małgorzata Szeliga finished second, while Wojciech Pachnik (H-18 category) finished third. Małgorzata won the classic race, while Wojciech and Angelika finished second.

On Friday, 6 November, athletes from UKS Tukan took part in the 4th Torch Run Mostami Europamiasta Görlitz–Zgorzelec. Wojciech Pachnik won, recording a very respectable time of 30:24 over the 8.4 km distance. Besides Wojciech, the following Tukan athletes finished in the top ten: Mateusz Madej (7th place, time 32:24), Marek Wojnowicz (8th place, 32:30) and Dariusz Pachnik (10th place, 33:09). Here are the detailed results:

  • Mariusz Wojnowicz – first place in the M 14–15 category (33:54)
  • Grzegorz Madej – second place in the M 14–15 category (40:02)
  • Marek Wojnowicz – first place in the M 16–17 category (32:30)
  • Wojciech Pachnik – first place in the M 18–19 category (30:24)
  • Mateusz Madej – first place in the M 18–19 category (32:24)
  • Angelika Haniszewska – first place in the K 14–15 category (42:53)
  • Małgorzata Szeliga – first place in the K 16–17 category (42:53)
  • Dariusz Pachnik – first place in the M 40 category (33:09)

A 2.8 km race was also held that day. Staś Pachnik took first place in the M 6–7 category. In the M 12–13 category, Bartek Szeliga was the best, while his teammate Dominik Burdzy finished third. In the M 14–15 category, Andrzej Wojnowicz finished first, Łukasz Błond second and Krzysztof Wieczorek third. Karolina Fijałkowska finished second in the K 12–13 category.

The Tukan representatives then took part in the German Nebel Cup. In the night race held on 7 November, Wojciech Pachnik and Małgorzata Szeliga took first place in their respective categories. Dariusz Pachnik finished second in the veterans’ category. The classic race took place on Sunday, 8 November. Małgorzata and Wojciech once again stood on the top step of the podium, while Tukan’s coach finished third.

On Wednesday, 11 November, athletes from UKS Tukan Iwiny took part in a competition organised by Legnica’s OSiR. The results were as follows:

  • Karolina Fijałkowska – 3rd place in the primary school category
  • Małgorzata Szeliga – first place in the upper-secondary school category and third in the main race
  • Angelika Haniszewska – third place in the middle school category and fourth in the main race
  • Wojciech Pachnik – second place in the upper-secondary school category and fourth in the main race
  • Dariusz Pachnik – second place in the main race (40–49 category).
