Nogent Sur Marne is located in the Île-de-France region, eleven kilometres from and bordering the centre of Paris. The city is developing dynamically and efficiently carrying out further investments. The municipality of Nogent has more than 28,000 residents of various nationalities. A sizeable group of Poles is among them.

The basis for establishing Polish-French relations was the longstanding cooperation between our existing partner, Siegburg, and Nogent. With the wealth of experience gained through cooperation with Siegburg, the authorities of Bolesławiec will be able to make even better use of cooperation with Nogent. Polish-French contacts will begin with a student exchange. Students from schools where French is a compulsory language, as well as students of the Music School, will take part in the exchange.

At present, Bolesławiec maintains partnership relations with four cities: Hobro in Denmark, Siegburg and Pirna in Germany, and Nogent in France. The cooperation includes the exchange of experience, visits by delegations of authorities, cultural and sports groups, and school students.
