At the end of the summer holidays, we wrote that teaching religion in Bolesławiec preschools and primary schools costs almost PLN 920,000 annually. Now we know how much additional cost is generated by religion classes in secondary schools. It comes to more than PLN 800,000 annually.
“In 2019, a total of PLN 801,552.00 was spent on religion classes in county-run schools. These were expenses for the salaries of people conducting religion classes,” says Sabina Guszpil, head of the Promotion Department of Bolesławiec County.
In total, more than PLN 1.7 million from public funds is spent on teaching religion in preschools, primary schools and secondary schools in Bolesławiec.
During the period when schools were closed because of the coronavirus, religion teachers, both male and female, received their salaries as usual, just like other teachers.
