The accident occurred at night on Kosiby Street, at the exit from the city. Three cars collided: an Audi 80, a Volkswagen Golf and an Opel Astra.
Preliminary findings indicate that the Golf driver moved into the oncoming lane and hit the Opel. The Audi 80 then crashed into both cars. Firefighters were called to the scene and used specialist equipment to cut open the vehicles.
Six people were taken to hospital; one died. According to the firefighters, the accident was caused by excessive speed and difficult weather conditions.
