In recent years, the company has carried out three EU-funded projects at the Municipal Waste Neutralisation Plant in Trzebień, including the construction of a tunnel composting hall and waste bays; upgrading the sorting line by installing ferrous and non-ferrous metal separators and building a new conveyor; and purchasing two telescopic loaders, a waste screener, a bulky-waste shredder and a specialist vehicle with a hook-lift system.
The total amount of external funding obtained exceeded PLN 4 million and significantly helped modernise the company's machinery fleet.
“Efficient, modern company management and obtaining EU funds guarantee the provision of services to residents at the highest level,” says MZGK President Władysław Bakalarz.
MZGK Bolesławiec is currently implementing its fourth EU-funded project financed by the Regional Operational Programme for the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
The project involves modernising the sorting line at the Municipal Waste Neutralisation Plant in Trzebień. Following a tender procedure, a contractor was selected and proceeded with the implementation of the mutually signed agreement.
The value of the project, involving the installation of a modern baling press with a perforator, exceeds one million zlotys; the completion deadline is 30 October 2020. As a result of the investment and the increased pressing force, the efficiency of storing and transporting baled separately collected waste will be improved.
The project will be supported by ecological campaigns held in September this year jointly with the Municipal Public Library – Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec. The campaigns will concern the collection of batteries and used electrical and electronic equipment, as well as educational lessons at ZUOK Trzebień. They will be aimed at children and young people from kindergartens and primary schools, as well as residents of the city of Bolesławiec. The campaigns will aim to disseminate knowledge about municipal waste sorting and the separate collection of batteries, shape the appropriate attitude of young city residents towards the problem of the growing amount of waste, promote environmental awareness among residents, and engage schools in ecology and the protection of the local environment.
