Małgorzata Dłużyk, former director of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre, has died. She was 49. She had been battling cancer for two years.
Małgorzata Dłużyk died at a hospital in Zgorzelec yesterday evening.
In 1995, she said in an interview with Głos Bolesławca:
I am interested in social issues; in life, I follow the motto of the Indian philosopher Mahatma Ghandi: "Until millions of hungry people are fed and millions of ragged people are clothed, neither I nor you, no one has the right to possess anything that is not essential for satisfying basic needs." That is why I am happy when I can help another person. I do not like monotony; like every Capricorn, I love spending time in the mountains and "fighting" them on foot as well as by bicycle.
