A 3.5-year-old boy went missing in the afternoon near Lubańska Street in Nowogrodziec. He probably fell into the Kwisa River. Police officers and firefighters from the entire county are being brought to the scene.
Rescuers in boats are traveling downstream in search of the 3.5-year-old.

A group of divers is on its way. They will be in Nowogrodziec at around 8:10 p.m. The search area has been extended to Tomisław. Fifteen teams are taking part in the operation. A special drone has been called in from Wrocław and will search for the child from the air. Police are asking anyone who saw the boy to provide information. The missing boy's name is: KACPER BŁAŻEJOWSKI.The boy was wearing black cargo trousers, a white-and-red striped T-shirt with a picture of Mickey Mouse, and grey sports shoes. The child may have had a balance bike with him.

The boy has still not been found. Firefighters from Wałbrzych, Wrocław, Legnica and units from Bolesławiec County are at the scene.
– At around 6:50 p.m., we received information that the child had probably fallen into the river while he was with his father. The boy has not yet been found. We are working together with the Fire Service and the Territorial Defence Forces. We are searching the riverbank. A helicopter equipped with thermal imaging has been deployed. We will search from Nowogrodziec to Parzyce. There are culverts and dams along this stretch. We expect to find him there. At present, there are 50 police officers, 30 firefighters and 20 soldiers. The boy was playing and moved away from his father. The child was playing right next to the river – says Inspector Norbert Kurenda, head of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
– In the first phase, after arriving at the scene, we searched along both banks of the river as far as the village of Parzyce. Later, we extended the search to Zebrzydowa. After establishing that it was not possible for the child to have been carried downstream below Parzyce, we limited the search to the Nowogrodziec–Parzyce riverbanks. At the same time, rescuers wearing waders searched the area where the child may have fallen into the river, and later we launched boats onto the river and also searched the river. At present, the search is being conducted by a boat equipped with sonar. The fire service is currently searching the river current, while the police are searching the banks and nearby areas – said junior brigadier Piotr Pilarczyk of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec to the istotne.pl portal.
