Church weddings and baptisms are also taking place without problems, but with increased precautionary measures.

– Baptisms and weddings are being conducted on an ongoing basis, according to schedule. Baptisms are held on weekdays, when there are fewer people in the church – says Reverend Prelate Andrzej Jarosiewicz.

The deputy head of the Civil Registry Office reports that some people are cancelling their weddings without consequences because it is impossible to organize a reception, but those who consider the formal ceremony important will have no problem getting married before a civil registrar.

– The weddings of those couples who decided to go ahead will take place, while some couples have postponed theirs, unfortunately until a date we cannot yet determine. The couples explain that guests cannot travel and that the restaurants and venues where the receptions were to be held are closed – says Mariola Soja. – The stamp duty for preparing a marriage certificate remains valid for several years, so it does not expire in such a case. Additionally, birth and death registrations cannot be handled remotely; people must come in person, and we handle these matters at the office – the official adds.

Funerals at the Bolesławiec cemetery are taking place at a rate of two per day. The chapel is still open, but this may change, as the director of the Municipal Housing Management Facility informs us.

– No more than 10 people may attend each funeral, and for now there are two funerals a day – says Kazimierz Łomotowski. – It may be that we will have to close the chapel, depending on how the epidemic develops – the MZGM director warns.
