The fire was noticed yesterday (August 4) at night, at the exit from Warta Bolesławiecka toward Iwiny. A large stack of straw was burning in the field. The temperature around the burning pile was high. The firefighters had no chance of extinguishing the fire. The flames consumed the entire surface of the stack. The firefighters’ efforts were limited to protecting the neighboring fields against the fire spreading to them. In addition, the area around the burning stack was plowed. The straw stack was probably set on fire deliberately. The losses were estimated at PLN 60,000.
