The incident occurred after 7:00 p.m., near an unguarded railway crossing on the Bolesławiec–Kraśnik route. A fire broke out inside a locomotive pulling tank cars containing acid. The train was travelling from the direction of Zakłady Chemiczne Wizów. Firefighters arrived at the scene very quickly. The fire was extinguished within a few minutes. Two drivers were travelling on the train. One of them was taken to hospital for observation.
The fire was caused by a short circuit in the electrical system. The train blocked the railway crossing on the road from Bolesławiec to Kraśnik. Traffic was restored after two hours.
