Beata Sulska serves as head of the Social Affairs Department of the Municipal Office; previously, she was director of the 2nd General Secondary School.

Kornel Filipowicz replaced Maciej Małkowski as deputy mayor in 2010 and held the position for 10 years. He has now been delegated to manage the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre. Filipowicz will probably be replaced by Beata Sulska—provided she agrees to the promotion.

How do our readers comment on the reshuffling of positions? Not very favourably. They are certainly not focusing on the candidates’ competencies, but on the mayor’s personnel decisions. They ask why there was no competition for the position of director of BOK – MCC. Many people wanted the position, and the mayor rejected them all. In response to a question about a competition for the position of director of BOK – MCC, one of our readers wrote on the forum:

What competitions? It is known anyway that only the mayor’s cronies get such positions. You can have better qualifications and experience, and still a “friend of the rabbit” will get the job.

If Beata Sulska became Roman’s deputy, the roles would be reversed. Her current superior would become her subordinate.

What do you think about these changes?
