We remind you that on New Year's Eve in Karkonosze, as on all other days of the year, hiking at night is prohibited; the exception is the need to reach or return from mountain shelters.

Firing firecrackers or rockets is prohibited throughout the national park and in all national parks in Poland, as stipulated directly by the Nature Conservation Act. The use of fireworks is also prohibited on the Czech side.

Patrols of the Park Guard will operate in the Karpacz and Szklarska Poręba area. As KPN director Andrzej Raj says, they will intervene if people illegally appear on the trails.

Deputy head of the Karkonosze GOPR Group Grzegorz Tarczewski warns that the full GOPR force is on standby until 6 p.m., while at night there are only duty shifts, so waiting for help in the event of an injury may take longer than during the day.
