Awards were presented in five categories:

  • adult volunteer
  • youth volunteer
  • non-governmental organization
  • donor
  • occasional volunteer.

For the first time, the title of “Volunteer with a Big Heart” was awarded.

The chapter, composed among others of representatives of the county governor and winners of competitions from previous years, analyzed 24 applications submitted by residents of Bolesławiec, organizations and institutions.

In the “Adult Volunteer” category, the winner was Barbara Smoleńska, president of the Society of Friends of Lviv and the Southeastern Borderlands. Barbara was recognized for helping compatriots living in Ukraine, repeatedly organizing efforts to locate and clean up Polish cemeteries, and involving young people in charitable activities for Poles living across the eastern border.

In the “Youth Volunteer” category, the statuette and appointment certificate were received by Karolina Marta Friedek – for exceptional commitment and organizing, among other things, campaigns such as Szpikolada, Szlachetna Paczka, food collections, aid for compatriots in the East, and youth pro-life campaigns.

In the “Non-Governmental Organization” category, the award went to the Regional Branch of the Polish Red Cross for helping homeless people, participating in campaigns to fight hunger, cooperating with blood donors, promoting health, and involving young people in charitable work.

In the “Donor” category, Beata and Zbigniew Partyka were recognized for providing food free of charge to the Bolesławiec children's home and supporting annual Christmas wafer meetings for people with disabilities.

In the same category, Sonia Turzyniecka, a disabled athlete who successfully competes in national and international arm-wrestling competitions and donates all her trophies to charity auctions, received a distinction.

In the “Occasional Volunteer” category, the Bolesławiec Headquarters of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity was honored for organizing the campaign finale and raising a record PLN 128,582.

For the first time in the ten-year history of the competition, the title of “Volunteer with a Big Heart” was awarded. This special distinction was received by Dr. Janina Piestrak-Babijczuk – for many years of selfless work for sick children, helping elderly people, and volunteering at the surgical clinic of the Bolesławiec hospital.

The gala featured flamenco dancer and instructor Magdalena Zientara, as well as the Fabryka Czekolady band with Zosia Kołodziej, a singer with an exceptionally distinctive voice.
