Municipal Police in Jelenia Góra:
We would like to inform you that, pursuant to the definition in Article 50a of the Road Traffic Act, a vehicle left in a residential zone, traffic zone or on a public road without registration plates, or a vehicle whose condition indicates that it is not being used, may be removed from the road by the Municipal Police or the Police at the owner's or holder's expense.
If an authorised person fails to collect a vehicle from the car park at the municipality's request within six months from the date of its removal, it is deemed to have been abandoned with the intention of relinquishing ownership. The vehicle becomes the property of the municipality by operation of law.
Another operation to remove wrecks from the city is under way. Officers remind owners of unused vehicles to observe the following deadlines:
- periodic technical inspections
- before expiry – renewal of the third-party liability insurance policy
- within 30 days – submitting an application to dispose of the vehicle or deregister it.
