From the new year, some entrepreneurs will have to use online cash registers. These fiscal cash registers—regardless of whether they are in good condition or when they were purchased—will become a thing of the past.
Fuel stations, as well as service providers in the automotive and tyre industries, will be the first to have to make this change. Unofficially, however, it is said that the change is to cover all entrepreneurs.
This obviously means that a business owner will have to buy a new online cash register (or registers), even if they purchased the regular fiscal one recently. The cost of one decent online cash register is PLN 1,500 net. The state will reimburse a maximum of PLN 700.
Why the change?
As the infor.pl service reports
::The Ministry of Finance expects that the use of software-based cash registers will increase the effectiveness of tax administration activities aimed at combating unregistered retail sales and the avoidance and evasion of VAT through real-time control mechanisms. The possibility of using cash registers in software form may also reduce the costs taxpayers incur when fulfilling their obligation to record sales using cash registers.
This will undoubtedly be a major expense—especially for entrepreneurs who have to replace many cash registers.
