Pro bono activities and achievements in the fields of culture, social assistance, health promotion, ecology, activities supporting people with disabilities, and all other initiatives that engage the local community will be evaluated.
This year, the competition format has been expanded. The county executive board decided to add a fifth category – occasional volunteer. This will provide an opportunity to honour more people organising, for example, one-off educational campaigns or charity collections; a group from which it is difficult to fairly select a leader.
“Volunteer of the Year of Bolesławiec County 2019” will now be selected in five categories:
- youth volunteer
- adult
- donor
- non-governmental organisation
- occasional volunteer.
The most deserving volunteers will be selected by a panel consisting of: the Bolesławiec county head (or a person appointed by him); the head of the Department of Civic, Social and Health Affairs; the head of the County Promotion Section; and the winners from the two most recent editions of the competition.
The awards ceremony will take place on December 5 at the Old Theatre.
