Saturday’s match was played on an artificial surface and was an enjoyable spectacle. Both teams fought a fierce battle, and the outcome remained undecided until the end. The opening stages belonged to BKS Bolesławiec. Our team went on the attack and took the lead in the 11th minute. Dorian Latała made a fine run down the right and played the ball to Marek Majka in the penalty area. The BKS striker’s powerful shot under the crossbar gave the goalkeeper from Lubań no chance, making it 1–0 to our team.
The goal spurred the hosts into action, and from that moment they began to play with greater purpose. Fortunately for BKS, Łużyce were unable to turn the chances they created into goals, and the visitors held on to their narrow lead until half-time.
After the change of ends, the pattern of play remained unchanged. BKS Bolesławiec dropped back to defend its lead, while the hosts tried at all costs to equalise. They succeeded in the 53rd minute, when Jakub Gilewski headed the ball into the net to make it 1–1. There was no shortage of tough challenges and battles for every metre of the pitch. In the 68th minute, we had another reason to celebrate. Following a free-kick cross and the Łużyce Lubań goalkeeper’s clearance, the ball fell to Adrian Biały, who headed it home to put us 2–1 ahead.
In the 75th minute, Adrian Puzio produced an excellent pass to Marek Majka. Majka rounded the goalkeeper at full speed and put the ball into the net. Just when a 3–1 lead seemed to be a safe result, the referee awarded the hosts a penalty in the 80th minute after an accidental handball in the penalty area. Damian Bojdziński converted it.
After scoring the goal that brought them back into the game, the hosts grew in confidence and launched wave after wave of attacks on Jakub Walczak’s goal. This gave BKS Bolesławiec several counterattacking opportunities—a fine shot from the right by Adrian Biały and a one-on-one chance for Adrian Kulesza—but each time we lacked precision. Despite the considerable tension, our team held on to its lead until the final whistle, and we return from Lubań with three points. Both teams deserve praise for a genuinely interesting spectacle; the result was decided by details that were on our side this time.
