– Our organization cares greatly about ensuring that as many children as possible from families with lower material status attend our summer camps. We try to obtain as much funding as possible to subsidize the stay of children who, without our help, probably would not go anywhere for the holidays – says Jadwiga Bobek from TPD.
39 camp participants from the poorest families received funding from grants provided by the Bolesławiec Municipal Office and the KGHM POLSKA MIEDŹ Foundation. The amounts ranged from PLN 600 to PLN 900. In total, approximately 29% of the children went to the camp with substantial financial support.
The camp program was extensive. The children spent their time actively. They went to the beach and for walks in the surrounding forests. Many events, games, competitions and sports activities were organized for them. All competitions were rewarded with diplomas, sweets and small gifts. There was no time for boredom; every child could find something for themselves among the activities on offer.
The campers also took part in attractive excursions. They went on a boat trip and visited the Amber Museum and the Fishing Gallery. They also visited the LEONARDIA Educational and Entertainment Farm, the Hobbit Village and the Amusement Park in Darłowo, and climbed ropes at the Rope Park.
– We sincerely thank you for the financial support of our long-standing project – integration camps by the sea. For the 139 participants, these were two exceptional weeks – a time of sports and cultural activities, excursions and, above all, beach outings and sea bathing. Thanks to the funding, we were able to significantly increase spending on program materials, excursions and attractions. We are grateful for the help we received and thank you once again – adds Jadwiga Bobek.
