A training ground in Dobre nad Kwisą, near Świętoszów, is on fire. Several dozen hectares of heathland are burning. As our Reader informs us: the smoke is visible from Ławszowa.
More than 20 fire service units have been dispatched to the scene of the fire (from Bolesławiec County and neighboring counties), along with three firefighting aircraft. OSP Gozdnica, OSP Borowe and OSP Konin Żagański are supplying the aircraft with water. The operation is being hampered by the wind.
The fire may have been caused by NATO military exercises and shooting taking place at the training ground.
