On 26 May, officers from the Border Guard Post in Poznań-Ławica were informed by an Airport Security Guard employee that a knuckle-duster had been discovered.
The owner turned out to be a 29-year-old Ukrainian citizen who was flying to Lviv. The man stated that the knuckle-duster was intended to be a decoration for a trouser belt.
The item was seized because the man did not have the required permission to possess it and take it outside Poland.
Border guards:
Proceedings for a misdemeanor were initiated against the man, and after the documentation was prepared, he was allowed to continue his journey.
They add:
Over the past six months, this is already another case in which objects such as a knuckle-duster have been discovered during security checks at Poznań airport. Although a knuckle-duster is widely available, it is considered a bladed weapon, and appropriate permission is required to possess one and take it outside Poland. Otherwise, serious consequences may follow.
