The man who first noticed the desperate person was walking down the street. He called out to him not to jump and tried to calm him down. When the fire engines arrived, the man shouted something toward the inside of the apartment and jumped headfirst from the window. Resuscitation was immediately started by a nun who was walking down the street and is a doctor by profession. Medical rescuers and firefighters then joined the operation.
Unfortunately, resuscitation was unsuccessful and the man died. Witnesses say that the desperate man appeared to be about 40 years old, and that there was supposedly a woman in the apartment from which he jumped.
