BKS Bolesławiec’s senior team performed excellently on Saturday (18 May), defeating Karkonosze Jelenia Góra 4–2 (3–0) away from home in the 27th-round match of the Lower Silesian IV League. The goals for our team were scored by: Marek Majka, Filip Zagórski, Adrian Puzio and Daniel Ziółkowski.
The first half was a display of BKS Bolesławiec’s quality. Our players went at their opponents and quickly imposed their own style. We could have taken the lead as early as the 14th minute, but Łukasz Graczyk failed to convert a one-on-one chance against the goalkeeper. A few minutes later, Marek Majka had a good opportunity, but once again we were left disappointed. The hosts looked poor during this phase of the match, and our players wanted to take advantage of that as quickly as possible.
In the 24th minute, Marek Majka took advantage of an error by the Karkonosze Jelenia Góra goalkeeper and put us 1–0 ahead with a precise finish. One goal was not enough for our players, however, so they set about creating more chances. In the 37th minute, Daniel Ziółkowski passed to Filip Zagórski, who dribbled past a defender and, with a precise shot right inside the post, made it 2–0. Two minutes later, BKS Bolesławiec scored again, with Adrian Puzio getting his name on the scoresheet. Just before half-time, Karkonosze Jelenia Góra should have scored a goal to bring them back into the match, but an opposing player sent the ball over our crossbar from close range.
After the break, the pattern of play changed slightly. Karkonosze Jelenia Góra’s players set about reducing the deficit and took the initiative, but Kacper Różnicki was always on hand. When Bartosz Poszelężny scored twice for Karkonosze Jelenia Góra in the 69th and 71st minutes, the match became tense. The hosts pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but our defence allowed no further goals. In the 77th minute, BKS Bolesławiec launched a counterattack, and, thanks to an assist from Łukasz Graczyk and a precise finish by Daniel Ziółkowski, we extended our lead to 4–2. The score did not change for the rest of the match, and BKS Bolesławiec secured the much-desired victory.
Saturday’s match was played at a high level and was enjoyable to watch. Our players showed greater commitment and fighting spirit, so the three points are heading to Bolesławiec. A good second-half performance alone was not enough for KSK to earn even a point. Next week, BKS Bolesławiec will host AKS Strzegom at Spółdzielcza.
