Councillor of the City Council Mirosław Sakowski filed an interpellation concerning the stone commemorating the Gross-Rosen concentration camp subcamp in Bolesławiec. Here is the response he received from Iwona Mandżuk-Dudek, deputy mayor of Bolesławiec:

The monument was dismantled by the owner of the site for renovation and conservation, and remains in the owner’s possession.

Piotr Roman’s deputy added:

At the same time, I would like to point out that Polish law contains no act protecting memorial sites located on private property.

Let us recall. Two years ago, beneath one of our articles, a reader suggested:

It would be better to tell the people of the Bolesławiec area what happened to the stone commemorating the Gross-Rosen concentration camp subcamp, which stood on Staroszkolna Street, because only an empty space remains where the monument was… And just a year ago it was still standing there… I wonder who it bothered. After all, the children who grow up one day will not know that something like this [tu] existed…
