A Reader, a resident of Kraszewskiego Street, informed us about the burned-out car after coming across the wreck on Sunday. The vehicle was left on a dirt road near a wastewater treatment plant. The Bolesławiec resident was concerned by a gas cylinder inside the burned-out car. The Reader pointed out that if any gas remained in the cylinder, it could lead to a tragedy. All it would take would be for scrap metal collectors to start dismantling the car.

The police and fire service were notified about the incident. According to assurances from both services, the burned-out car wreck poses no threat to people. Firefighters thoroughly inspected the car. There is no gas in the cylinder. The question of who and when will clear away the wreck remains. “The car will be removed once its owner has been identified,” says Adriana Szajwaj of the Bolesławiec police.

Identifying the car’s owner is difficult. The vehicle burned completely. At the police’s request, the fire service cut out pieces of the car. Police officers are trying to determine the owner’s name based on them. If the owner is not found, the burned-out car will be taken to a scrap yard at the expense of the Starostwo Powiatowe.
