Last weekend, the 11th edition of the Grand Prix of Mazovia Orienteering Race took place in Michałów-Reginów near Warsaw. Nearly 500 runners from across Poland competed in this year’s event, including a 12-person team representing UKS Tukan Iwiny.

The team from Iwiny performed very well. The greatest success was achieved by Małgosia Szeliga, who defeated 36 competitors and became the first person in the club’s history to win such a prestigious event.

Wojtek Pachnik began his competition with a below-par performance in the sprint, but started to make up ground in the following stages. In the second part of the event, he finished third, and on the final day, thanks to a superb run (he was second behind Russian Aleksander Galitisin), moved up to fourth place in the overall standings.
