A sports and recreational swimming pool will be built at Popiełuszko Square. In the future, the facility is to become part of a larger complex (the swimming pool will be connected to a shopping gallery). The swimming pool itself will consist of the following elements:
- an entrance area (main hall, two-storey hall)
- a changing-room and sanitary facilities block, which will include, among other things, a changing room with changing cubicles, swimming-pool lockers and a room for pool wheelchairs for people with disabilities; male and female sanitary facilities; and a bathroom for mothers with children
- a swimming-pool hall (the main recreational pool will have an area of 200 m². In addition, Bolesławiec residents will be able to enjoy a range of water attractions, such as loungers with air jets, a water carousel, waterfall, water cannons, cascade and underwater geysers. The hall will also be equipped with a children’s paddling pool, hot tubs and slides)
- a sauna complex: a dry (Finnish) sauna, saunarium, salt grotto, steam sauna, relaxation hall with loungers, massage room and solarium
- swimming-pool service rooms
- technical rooms
- a fitness complex (including a gym, squash court or exercise room
- an administration complex.
All service facilities in the building will be fully accessible to people with disabilities. The investment is worth more than PLN 19 million. The contractor is Eiffage Budownictwo Mitex, which will also prepare the project’s complete technical documentation. As Adam Zarębski, the company’s director, assures us, construction of the swimming pool is to be completed in October 2010.
Below, we present the concept prepared by ETC Architekci. The design and the completed swimming pool may differ significantly from it.
