The local elections were held on 21 October. Under the law, people who stood as candidates had one month to remove election posters. It appears, however, that some of those who ran in last year’s election—both those who were elected and those who were unsuccessful—do not care about cleaning up after themselves.

It should be emphasised that this concerns various election committees. As we managed to establish, after 30 days the municipal police inspected the places where election posters had been displayed and initiated several explanatory proceedings.

As it turned out, the last post-election advertising materials disappeared from the City of Ceramics only... at the beginning of this week (these included posters of Maciej Małkowski, head of Impuls Miasta, and Urszula Magryś, who ran for the Lower Silesian Regional Assembly on behalf of the PO–Nowoczesna coalition).

What is more, it seems that they disappeared mainly because municipal police officers intervened.

No one was fined; in every case, the matter ended with a warning. However, if the removal of the election materials had continued to be delayed, the officers could have imposed fines of up to PLN 500 on those responsible for the offences.

(We took the first photographs included in our gallery exactly one month after the election, at the end of November. We took the second ones on 7 January, before 3 p.m.).
