Can you imagine a parade of hundreds of sculptures? Actually, you don't have to imagine it! It will soon become reality. It will really happen! This will be the first-ever Parade Out of Love for Clay, organized by Via Sudetica. The parade starts on August 17 at 3:30 p.m. at Opałkowa Chata.

You have surely dreamed more than once of being someone else, even if only for a moment, of taking on the role of some character. The Bolesławiec Parade will give you that opportunity. Mime artist Bogusław Nowak will help you create a unique theatrical persona. Come and feel like an actor in a large theater group. Take part in this extraordinary event. Bring your family and friends.
Wear clothes that mean little to you, clothes you were going to throw away anyway. Pots filled with natural clay will be waiting at the site. Bolesławiec clay has cosmetic properties, so you have nothing to worry about. No one will strip naked. Everyone will cover themselves in clay and, together with the other clay people, set off from Opałkowa Chata toward the city center. There, the clay parade will join the annual parade opening the Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival.
Prizes await!
In Bolesławiec Market Square, everyone will receive a number. Each number is a chance to win a prize: the main prize of PLN 1,000 and smaller prizes of PLN 100 each. The prizes will be drawn at 7:00 p.m. There will, of course, be commemorative photographs. Afterwards, anyone who wishes will be able to wash under a fire hose.
At 10:45 p.m., the clay people will head to Piwnica Paryska, where, among others, opera singers from Voronezh will perform.
The Parade is organized by Via Sudetica, an association of positively enthusiastic people. The event's media patron will be the Boleslawiec.org service.
Parade program – August 17, 2007:
- 3:30 p.m. – start at Opałkowa Chata
- approx. 6:30 p.m. – participation in the parade opening the Ceramic Festival
- 7:00 p.m. – drawing of cash prizes
- 10:45 p.m. – march to Piwnica Paryska: theater, a concert and excellent beer
