A broad group of experts from the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw awarded the “Dobry Wzór 2018” prize to a ceramic set of bowls and serving platters shaped like fish, decorated with the “Cobalt Clouds” pattern, designed by our chief designers:
- form designer: Mariusz Ochocki
- decoration designer: Maria Starzyk.
The ceremonial gala took place on October 25, 2018, at the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw, marking the 25th anniversary of the “Dobry Wzór” competition.
The award-winning set is on display at the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw until December 9, 2018.
IWP EXPERT OPINION:
In this collection of bowls and serving platters, the designers have successfully combined seemingly distant traditions and ornaments in an interesting way: the characteristic dots and indigo color associated with Bolesławiec ceramics, and a wave pattern inspired by the classic Japanese seigaiha motif.
Combined with the collection’s charming, unpretentious form, this gives it a pleasing contemporary character that can easily be paired with modern tableware. An interesting alternative to the traditional folk ornaments for which Bolesławiec is famous.
