In the second round of the Lower Silesian fourth division, BKS Bolesławiec lost to Górnik Złotoryja 1–4 (1–2) at Spółdzielcza. The match was played on Saturday, 18 August. The only goal for our team was scored by Marek Majka. Saturday’s result was certainly a major disappointment, as BKS Bolesławiec took the lead in the match. Unfortunately, the opponents were the better side that day and more than made up the deficit. Goals for Górnik were scored by: Bartosz Haniecki (2), Adrian Krzeszowiec and Wojciech Świętochowski.
From the beginning of the match, the opponents controlled the play, repeatedly causing confusion in our penalty area. Despite this, we took the lead in the 16th minute. Adrian Kulesza won the ball in the middle of the pitch and supplied Marek Majka with a fine pass. Popularly known as Maja, he made no mistake in the one-on-one situation and put us 1–0 ahead. Unfortunately, this was the only positive moment of the day. Conceding a goal spurred Górnik Złotoryja into action, and shortly after being awarded a penalty, the opponents scored the equalizer. Although Kacper Różnicki, who was guarding our goal, saved the penalty, he was helpless against the follow-up. Before halftime, the opponents managed to score a second goal, and as if there were not enough misfortunes, Krzysztof Dmuchowski had to leave the pitch in the 45th minute after receiving a second yellow card.
In the second half, BKS Bolesławiec performed slightly better, but this did not prevent us from conceding two goals. Our players tried to make up the deficit, but they were helpless against the opponents’ numerical advantage and better play. The visitors could have won by an even larger margin, but Kacper Różnicki saved the second penalty of the match. BKS Bolesławiec took the initiative and pressed the opponents only toward the end, but lacked accuracy and energy. Górnik Złotoryja was clearly the better team that day and deservedly won.
Our team will play its next match away against Victoria Ruszów (25 August, 5:00 p.m.).
