On March 21–22, the International Polish Muay Thai Championships were held in Kraków. The competition took place under the patronage of the Polish Muay Thai Association. Approximately 120 competitors from Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belarus and Albania took part.
Our city was represented by Dominik Zadora. The defending champion competed in the up-to-71 kg category. In the final, Dominik faced Piotr Poźniak, a competitor from the Rzeszów Combat Sports Club “System”.
From the first seconds of the bout, the Bolesławiec fighter clearly dominated his opponent. Poźniak was knocked down twice, in the first and second rounds. In the 11th second of the third round, Dominik knocked out his opponent with a knee to the head.
Dominik Zadora defended his Polish championship title. Moreover, the judges recognized the Bolesławiec fighter’s sporting attitude and the style in which he defeated his opponents, awarding him the title of the championships’ best junior.
Dominik now faces hard work with the Polish national team. The competitor’s next test will be the European Championships, which will take place in Latvia in May.
