During the June meeting of the Bolesławiec City Council, the issue of introducing free public transport in Bolesławiec returned. “There will certainly be plenty of timetable adjustments,” Mayor Piotr Roman announced. “We will test all of this in practice.”
The mayor of the City of Ceramics added that the experience of municipalities that have already introduced free public transport is very good. Traffic in central Lubin has fallen by 20–30 percent. Parking is easier there, and driving is easier too.
“We have a few months to observe and analyse how it works,” P. Roman continued. It is already known that the City will launch a stop near Leśny Potok after some time. “I expect action that will enable us to create an optimal public transport network,” the mayor added.
He also mentioned that Lubin County is currently introducing free public transport. Will the same happen in Bolesławiec County? The authorities of the City of Ceramics support the idea.
We will certainly return to this topic.
