Thursday’s match (31 May), despite being played in intense heat, was enjoyable to watch. Both teams performed well, and there was no shortage of battling on the pitch. The match began in the middle of the field, with very few shots. Although BKS Bolesławiec had a slight advantage, the team lacked attempts on goal. We came close to scoring in the 21st minute, but the free-kick taken by Adrian Kulesza struck the post of the Gryfów team’s goal. The hosts entered our penalty area several times, but fortunately BKS Bolesławiec’s defense, in excellent form that day, neutralized every threat at an early stage. Toward the end of the first half, we had two chances that could have given us the lead. In the 41st minute, Krzysztof Lisowski headed the ball well, but it went just over the hosts’ crossbar. In the 45th minute, Adrian Kulesza had a great opportunity, but once again we were left disappointed. The score remained goalless until halftime.

After the break, our team attacked the opponent from the start and created several good chances. In the 55th minute, Adrian Kulesza had a clear-cut opportunity after going one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but he lost the duel and the score remained 0:0. In the 59th minute, Łukasz Graczyk was through one-on-one, this time lobbing the hosts’ goalkeeper, but the ball did not find the Gryf goal. In the 60th minute, we were finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. Krzysztof Dmuchowski crossed from the right, and the Gryf goalkeeper punched the ball straight to the feet of Łukasz Graczyk, who put us ahead 1:0 with an accurate shot. After conceding, the hosts set about making up the deficit, took the initiative and attacked dangerously. Fortunately for us, the closer Gryf got to our goal, the less effectively they played. Nevertheless, in added time the hosts could have equalized, but a header from a Gryfów player miraculously went past Bartosz Bochnia’s post. Ultimately, BKS Bolesławiec won 1:0.

Despite the intense heat, both teams put on an entertaining spectacle. The hosts’ determined performance deserves recognition; they looked solid, but on that day it was not enough to overcome BKS, who returned to second place thanks to the victory. The ball is now in our court, and it is up to us alone whether we retain this position until the end of the season. Our team will play its next match on Sunday (03.06) at 11:00 against Łużyce Lubań.
