BKS went into Saturday’s clash as the favorite, but it was clear that the points would have to be fought for hard on the pitch. That was indeed the case, and we deservedly claimed all three points. From the start of the match, BKS Bolesławiec had the upper hand, while Hutnik Pieńsk focused on protecting access to their own goal. Unfortunately for us, there were not enough shots on goal, and in the opening quarter of an hour only Maciej Zielonka tried his luck once. Fortunately for us, we finally started shooting as time went on.

In the 17th minute, Adrian Biały’s shot went past the post of Hutnik’s goal, but moments later we were celebrating a goal. In the 21st minute, Krzysztof Lisowski rose to meet a well-delivered free kick by Damian Puzio and headed BKS Bolesławiec into the lead. The conceded goal spurred the hosts into action, and they set about trying to make up the deficit. However, Bartosz Bochnia was in excellent form in our goal and dealt with every threat. The score did not change before the break, and we went into the dressing room leading 1–0.

The picture of the game did not change significantly after the teams switched ends. A riled-up Hutnik Pieńsk looked for a way to our goal, but our players snuffed out every threat at its source. We should have scored in the 57th minute. Adrian Biały found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the BKS Bolesławiec midfielder’s shot was saved by the player from Pieńsk. We took several more shots at the opponents’ goal, but each time precision was lacking: the ball either flew past the post or was gathered by the hosts’ goalkeeper.

In the 80th minute, Adrian Kulesza went one-on-one, but once again we were left disappointed. A minute later, Damian Puzio struck well, and the Hutnik goalkeeper struggled to tip the ball over the crossbar. Two minutes later, Marcin Szaja was shown a red card for receiving two yellow cards, and it became clear that the closing stages would be nervous. Fortunately for us, BKS delivered the final blow. In the 89th minute, Damian Puzio sent in a corner. Despite their attempts, none of the players managed to get a touch on the ball, which, to the Hutnik Pieńsk goalkeeper’s surprise, went into the net. The match ultimately ended in our 2–0 victory.

Saturday’s clash was not easy, but once again we showed character and the will to win. Hutnik Pieńsk put in a good performance, but it was not enough to take points from our team. Let us hope that, boosted by claiming all three points, BKS Bolesławiec will once again take the full haul next week in the match against Woskar Szklarska Poręba.
