On Thursday, February 12, the regional final of the “Getting to Know Our Homeland” competition was held at the PTTK headquarters in Wrocław. In the primary school category, first place went to Dagmara Parchimowicz of Primary School No. 1 for “My Family’s Siberia.” The work was supervised by history teacher Dariusz Kunaszko.

The award was presented to the winner by Beata Pawłowicz, the Lower Silesian superintendent of education. The work by the Primary School No. 1 student qualified for the national stage, which will be decided in April 2009.
