The accident occurred on 27 March at approximately 4:00 p.m. on national road No. 30, between Chmieleń and Pasiecznik (Lwówek County). The driver of the Volkswagen Golf, a resident of Lwówek County, lost control of the vehicle and collided with an oncoming Mercedes driven by a 57-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. A 21-year-old man from Lwówek County, driving a BMW, then crashed into the wrecked cars.
The Volkswagen driver was injured in the incident. The man was trapped in the vehicle and was freed by firefighters. The 55-year-old was taken to hospital. His life is not in danger. The Mercedes and BMW drivers were not injured. The road was blocked for several hours.
Police are appealing to drivers to exercise caution and slow down, particularly when weather conditions suddenly deteriorate.
