One of the undisputed devices winning children’s hearts is the smartwatch. Is it actually worth buying such a modern watch for our child?
The Most Popular Smartwatch Models on the Market
New models appear on the market every year, offering increasingly better features and dedicated applications. It is best to choose those whose functions will be most useful to us. The editors of the dzieciakowelove.pl portal analyzed the three most popular models that may interest any parent. Here they are:
- Smartwatch Q50 – this is a very easy-to-use model without a touchscreen display. The smartwatch is controlled using its dedicated application. It has basic functions: GPS, call control, the ability to send and receive voice messages, as well as eavesdropping. The price of this smartwatch ranges from PLN 70 to 90.
- Smartwatch Q90 – this model has a touchscreen color display and similar basic functions to the device above, as well as several additional features. This model is slightly more expensive, ranging from PLN 130 to 160.
- Smartwatch CALMEAN – this model has a built-in SIM card and an assigned number. To monitor the child, we download a special application. In addition, we can use many other functions. This model costs from PLN 200 to 300.
An Ordinary Watch versus a Smartwatch
We spoke with an editor from the zegarki.net.pl portal, who explained the difference: “Today, this name is probably familiar to everyone. A smartwatch does more than show the date and time, as an ordinary wind-up watch did. It has many additional and unusual functions. Perhaps its greatest advantage is the ability to receive and make calls. Until a certain point, only a mobile phone provided us with such capabilities. Now the smartwatch enables us to stay in touch with the world. All you have to do is insert a SIM card into it.”
Every smartwatch model may differ slightly, but most of them offer the following basic functions:
- receiving calls from numbers saved in the phone book
- sending and receiving text messages,
- the child can send an SOS signal to a parent if they are in danger,
- the smartwatch has simple games,
- the child can measure the number of steps taken and their heart rate.
However, smartwatches are not only ideal “watches” for children. They are also very useful for parents. Their functions and specially dedicated applications allow parents to monitor all of their child’s calls. We can also locate the child using GPS and track the route they have traveled. A smartwatch also makes it possible to listen in without the child’s knowledge.
Smartwatch – To Buy or Not to Buy?
Many parents worry about their child when they go away from home. However, we cannot forbid them from staying in contact with their peers. Smartwatches are easy to use, and some models do not have a touchscreen, making them difficult to damage. Every parent can choose the functions that will be most needed. This will not only make it easier to stay in touch with our child, but also give parents peace of mind. It is also worth noting that a smartwatch is an incredibly fashionable gadget that will certainly bring joy to any child.
