Solidary Longin Komołowski is an international project aimed at exceptionally talented students specializing in contemporary history and modern information technologies. It involved the students preparing a book dedicated to social activist Longin Komołowski.

During the project, students prepared materials for publication, collected eyewitness accounts, researched materials made available by the IPN, and created a visual archive containing documents and photographs. The project involved secondary-school students and university students from Poland, Lithuania and the USA. Young people from I Liceum Ogólnokształcące in Bolesławiec took part in the project activities from our region.

On 29 December 2017, a ceremonial presentation of the book “Solidary Longin Komołowski,” edited by S. Zielonka and A. Gałęski, took place in Szczecin at the headquarters of NSZZ “Solidarność” of Western Pomerania. The ceremony was attended, among others, by the chair of the Regional Board, Mieczysław Jurek, the widow of the late Longin Komołowski, Zofia Komołowska, his son, Michał Komołowski, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Jerzy Buzek, and former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy Janusz Steinhoff. Professor Jerzy Buzek ceremonially read excerpts from the book, and Zofia Komołowska received the first copy. Jan Krzywdziński, a graduate of I LO in Bolesławiec, presented the publication process on behalf of all project participants.
