The wind tore a banner from a Tesco advertising pole. On Sobieskiego Street, it brought down a large spruce tree. In Bolesławiec’s market square, it knocked over the illuminated teapot that stood beside the fountain. In many other parts of the county, the gale toppled trees.
Firefighters have been called out to numerous incidents. Fortunately, so far there have been no reports of animals or people being injured.
