As we have already reported, when Bolesławiec County was planning the Osiecznica–Rudawica road project, there was no talk yet of American soldiers arriving in our area with their oversized vehicles. “Our roads are too narrow for this equipment,” Bolesławiec County head Karol Stasik said during a press conference held on Wednesday, 17 January. The result? US Army vehicles block traffic and damage the verges, also destroying the aforementioned road.
At the end of last year, county officials asked the Ministry of National Defence for money to reinforce the verges along this section. On 17 January, they received information from the ministry that legislation had been adopted enabling co-financing for roads of strategic importance.
The local government has once again sent the ministry a letter requesting funds for this purpose. Whether it will receive them this time remains unknown for now. We will return to the subject.
