Mikołaj Panaszek – the handsome boy in the photo – is a real fighter. For many weeks, he has been bravely battling myelodysplastic syndrome, a little-known but very serious disease of the bone marrow that can develop into acute leukemia at any time without a transplant.
Before his illness, Mikołaj loved rollerblading and cycling. Now he gets tired too quickly, so he has replaced sport with reading and games. He dreams of having a dog, one from a shelter, so that he could take care of it.
“Become a SUPERHERO! Register as a bone marrow donor,” asks 9-year-old Mikołaj. His parents and friends add: “It’s simple, quick and painless – all you need to do is provide a mouth swab! If you are Mikołaj’s genetic twin, you have a huge chance to become a SUPERHERO and save his invaluable health!”
Registration for potential bone marrow donors will take place on Sunday, December 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Bolesławiec City Center Gallery (1 Asnyka Street).
